Church Leadership

At Reclaim church we believe that God has gifted both men and women to serve him as we advance his kingdom here on the earth.  We also believe that he gives his gifts of leadership freely to those from different racial and ethnic backgrounds as well.  With this in mind, Reclaim church is committed to building a diverse leadership team, one that is comprised of men and women from various backgrounds bound together in a common mission of proclaiming Christ and his reclaiming love.

Pastor Jerry and Sara Breedlove

Jerry and his wife, Sara, have been serving with the Christian and Missionary Alliance for over a decade and a half.  Before beginning ministry with the Alliance, Jerry was a solider in the U.S. Army, during which time he gave his life to Christ.  Because Jerry did not grow up in the church (coming to Christ as an adult instead), he has a unique perspective on ministry that helps him connect to other adults from similar backgrounds.  Sara also became a Christian as an adult, and her personal story of the saving grace of God has helped numerous men, women, and children find the grace, freedom, and forgiveness that Jesus offers.

Not only does Jerry serve as the Lead Pastor of Reclaim, he also teaches at Toccoa Falls College in the Ministry Leadership Program, coaches bowling professionally as a Bronze Level coach with the USBC, and coaches executives and business leaders around the country, with a focus on personal and professional development.

Sara is active in the community as well, and she received herdegree in psychology and counseling from Crown College.  Sara uses her gifts as a pastoral counselor to help every member of the family make sense of the craziness of life.  Over their years of ministry, Sara has also been a key factor in reaching children for Jesus, as well as providing oversight in many other areas of the church.

Jerry has completed a B.S. in Christian Ministry and an M.A. in Ministry Leadership from Crown College.  Jerry also earned his Doctor of Strategic Leadership Degree from Regent University, with an emphasis in coaching. He is ordained with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, a Christ-centered global movement more than 6 million strong.

Pastor Dave and Shelly Ghrist

Dave has been our associate pastor since July 2016. Dave married Shelly after returning from Desert Storm in 1991. They have two sons,Kyle and Josh. Josh is here in Kansas with them, and can usually be found with his camera snapping some great pictures of the local landscape and people ofKansas. Kyle lives in Westville, IL. with his wife Michelle and their daughter Felicity. Felicity stole her grandparents hearts when she was born in November of 2015.

Dave and Shelly are native Pennsylvanians, which means they root for the Steelers, the Penguins, and the Pirates. They may be set on their home teams, but don’t hold that against them, they are open to learning more about Sporting KC, and Jayhawk basketball.

These two love to blaze trails in the outdoors, and can usually be found walking any trail or path they can find. They love to go on adventures, and see new places, meet new people, experience new places to go eat, and even take in a show or two. Wanna hang out? They’re usually up for it.

Dave and Shelly have served in young adult, youth and children ministries. They’ve hosted several small groups, and enjoy connecting with people. They have an open table policy at their house, where they have hosted many who just needed an ear to listen. You’ll probably be served a meal, baked good, or coffee. Did someone say ice cream

Pastor Tia and Mike Hurt

tiared
Tia and her husband, Mike, have been a part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance for over ten years. Despite growing up in a Christian home, and attending church faithfully as a young person, Tia did not come to saving faith in Christ until May of 2007 while attending a C&MA church in Clarksville, TN. Mike also became a Christian as an adult, and this has been instrumental in him helping others to find Jesus.

Tia is involved in a variety of ministries through Reclaim, but two of her favorite are playing bass on the worship team and serving as the youth pastor. Tia has worked with youth for over a decade in a variety of capacities both inside and outside the church. One current area of service is as a special education teacher for the Shawnee Mission School District. Along with being a teacher, Tia is also a certified CrossFit Coach (CrossFit Level 1), a highly skilled soccer coach and player (having played at a collegiate level), and an all around sports nut.

Tia and Mike enjoy doing family outings with their son, Fitu, as well as working out together. Mike is active in the community as well, and he works as a designer for Trane. Mike loves using the gifts God has given him to reach out to those who need help by providing a listening ear and godly advice, and he is especially sensitive to the voice of the Lord.  This is evidenced by his ability to speak just the right words a person needs to hear at just the right time.

Tia has completed a B.S. in Special Education from Austin Peay State University. She also has a double masters from Crown College in Christian Studies and International Leadership with an emphasis in International Education.
